Nyerere National Park - officially known as the Selous Nature Reserve. A newly created park that is part of the so-called nature reserve Selous. Established in 2019 and covering an area of over 30,000 square kilometers, it is currently the largest national park in Africa.

The park boasts the largest elephant population in Tanzania, as well as large numbers of lions, leopards, African hunting dogs, buffalo and hippos. Bushbucks, red and blue duikers, elands, heartbucks, hyenas, giraffes, oryx, reedbucks, impalas, waterbucks and zebras are commonly seen. The park has the widest variety of safaris, ranging from a romantic boat safari on the Great Rufiji River, legendary fly-by hikes, hiking and standard driving game in thriving wilderness areas.

1 Day:
Departure from Zanzibar with transfer at 08:55. Morning arrival flight at 08:55. Upon arrival at the Stigler airstrip, your driver-guide will meet you and send you a packed lunch for your full day trip. Your day will be filled with exploring the park's wildlife from your seat in an open-sided or open-top vehicle. This comfortable and privileged journey through the wild African bush is a chance of a lifetime! You can expect to see many African mammals including elephant, giraffe, lion, buffalo, zebra and even the rare African wild dog.

Around 4:00 pm, embark on an adventurous and romantic sunset boat safari along the great Rufiji River to spot hippos, crocodiles and birds and enjoy a spectacular sunset.

2 Day:
Early breakfast at the camp followed by departure for a nature walk, bird watching or game watching en route to the airstrip for your scheduled 10:00 AM flight to Zanzibar.
